First Look at ALADDIN 3477 Footage to Debut in Germany!
This weekend at the JediCon in Düsseldorf, Germany, Aladdin 3477 Director Matt Busch will be showing the first glimpse of the film’s footage to a public audience. Prior, not even a single screenshot from the movie has been released… until now! (The image seen here is the first.)
Busch and his wife, Lin Zy, are special guests at the officially licensed Star Wars show, which includes other guests such as Anthony Daniels and Kenny Baker, who play See Threepio and Artoo Detoo in the films. Daniels has just announced wrapping shooting his scenes for the highly anticipated Star Wars: Episode 7, directed by J.J. Abrams.
Busch will be celebrating his 20th year producing official Star Wars art for Lucasfilm and many of the official Star Wars licensees. The JediCon show is also celebrating its 20th anniversary, leading Busch to create an epic poster commemorating both that will be available at the show. Busch will of course be on hand to sign posters, meet with fans, and give the first public glimpse of Aladdin 3477.
Lin Zy, who a producer and actress in Aladdin 3477, is also a Special Guest at the show for her contributions as a Star Wars artist. Lin Zy has illustrated numerous pieces for licensed products, such as posters, prints, T-shirts, trading cards, and more. Lin Zy directed the grand finale ‘puppet’ episode of the You Can Draw Star Wars video series. JediCon will unveil a new Poster, T Shirt, and Trumps Playing Card illustrated by Lin Zy, based on the new Star Wars: REBELS cartoon, which also happens to be premiering on Disney XD this weekend.
I’m showing nearly 7 minutes of footage, exclusively to the fans at the show. I think people are going to flip, and JediCon has the ideal demographic I’m aiming for.”
What exactly will Busch unveil with Aladdin? “I’m showing nearly 7 minutes of footage, exclusively to the fans at the show.” explains Busch. “There’s no sound design yet or even a good audio mix, so the majority of what I’m showing is a really great scene with no dialogue. I think people are going to flip, and JediCon has the ideal demographic I’m aiming for.”
Why is Busch choosing Germany to be the audience? “This being my only public appearance this year.” Busch elaborates, “And as much as this will be fun to share with the fans, it will be great for me to get some feedback on the footage at this early stage. I think the audience will love it, but I may get more out of it than they will.”
Will this footage be arriving Online shortly after? Sadly, Busch says no. “Maybe a snippet from the actual show, but this is really just an intimate exclusive for the friends and fans overseas. We’re still knee deep in filming, so I don’t want to give away too much too soon. To release any kind of trailer now would be fun, and I think everyone would be impressed, but it would be a disservice to what the overall vast scope of what the movie will be.”
All in good time. The JediCon runs this weekend, October 3rd through the 5th in Düsseldorf, Germany. Don’t miss it! More information here: http://www.jedi-con.de/starwars-en/index.php
